Shopping
The shopping is fantastic! It is varied and plentiful. You can shop for essentials or just be extravagant. Antiques, bath luxuries, candles, Christmas ornaments, cherry pitters...you name it.
On the way up you can stop at the Light House Mall which features outlet shopping galore. Dansk, J. Crew, Maidenform, Corning, just to name a few.
Holland also has an outlet mall. (I'm waiting for more info from the Holland Ch of C)
Then there's boutique shopping. Saugatuck has close to 100 interesting little shops to poke around in. The town of Douglas, just across the river, is begining to assemble another shopping paradise. Here's a sampling:

Gorgeous blown glass Christmas ornaments. Shellia's Collectibles, Habour Lights, Annalee Mobilitee Dolls. When my friend Irina visited from Russia I took her to Tuck's. She burst into tears because it was so overwhelming. She said she wished every child in Russia could have a Christmas like that. Of course you won't be seeing things through her eyes but Tuck's is something to see.
