Crane Orchards (Easy)
Marked trails to Hutchins Lake through orchards,
wood and on gently sloping hills (1 1/2 miles). Afterwards warm up with homemade
fruit pies or lunch in the Pie Pantry Restaurant. Their $1 fee includes
skiing, glass of cider and a donut. What a deal! Winter hours: Nov. 1 -
April 1 Tuesday - Saturday 10AM to 5PM and Sunday noon to 5PM.
Allegan State Game Area (Easy/Moderately Easy)
Located in a 45,000 acre forested habitat.
Trail is fully marked with direction change arrows. Laid out in stacked loops
to provide a choice of distances from 2 miles to18 miles with very little
repetition. Detailed maps available at State Game Headquarters on 118th Avenue
and 46th Street.
Saugatuck Dunes State Park (Difficult)
Breathtaking beautiful natural setting. Trails wind through pine and
oak covered bluffs right to the shore of Lake Michigan. North of Saugatuck/Douglas
on Blue Star Hwy., northwest of 64th St., west on 138th to park entrance.

Downhill

Located just 6 miles west of 131 off D Avenue,
Timber Ridge is open from December through March and offers great skiing for
all ability levels. They feature up to date rental equipment, free lessons
for beginners over age 8 and a special lesson program for 5 to 10 year olds
on weekends.

Four Triple Chairs, one double chair, six rope
tows. Sixteen slopes for beginners, intermediate and advanced skiers. They
boast a 300 foot vertical drop--the largest in southwest Michigan. Lighting
keeps the slopes open to 10:30 PM and they have100% snowmaking capacity.
